iTunes no burn option for burn to disc

You know, usually I dont blog about my personal endeavours AND I certainly avoid writing about Apple if I can but I felt sorry for others who may be in this scenario so decided to write up my experiences here.

I like to think of myself as reasonably competent technically so to find that I couldnt manage to burn a cd audio disc from iTunes was a pretty big blow, holding back my integrity I decided to do some good old fashioned 'Google-ing'.

Many, if not ALL posts pointed to Edit, Preferences and then under the "Burning Tab". So I started going through but hang on, what burning tab?! I havent got one. After looking on multiple sites all telling me the same thing, I figured I was on my own.

So I looked through advanced settings, import settings, creating AAC versions, I was literally seconds off leaving iTunes to burn in good old fashioned windows before I decided to simply right click on the Playlist I wanted. Only to find the option there, right in front of my face!

Why people say look in advanced options, look out for a burn disc in the top right corner... I have no idea! Folks the answer is simple if you want to burn a CD in Windows using iTunes just right click the playlist and select Burn.

End of, I hope that helps relieve some people.

Kris

Did I solve your problem? Buy me a virtual beer by clicking on a Google ad :). Thanks!

  1. Thank you SO much for this post - I also don't have a "burn" option under 'Preferences' so this probably saved me hours of frustration!

  7. Thank you so much! I was on the verge of a meltdown trying to figure out where that "burning" button was hiding. Makes no sense that do some have it and some don't. Also, why would there be so many post sending us on a wild goose chase when it's as easy as right click on playlist????

  8. I’ve highlighted the playlist and right clicked but there is no “burn” option. I’m using Windows 7- does this matter?

  10. I'm on Windows 7 and it works fine for me, I can't see why you wouldnt have the burn option under the playlist. Try putting a blank disk in the drive does it suggest burning then?

  13. Simple when you know how! I had reverted to using windows media player as I just couldn't figure it out and had got all the same stuff when googling about the 'non existent' burning tab. Thanks for posting the solution :-)

  17. No Burn option in Advanced or on right click on Win8.1. Using Itunes 12.1.1
Tried making a new playlist and also a playlist folder. The Apple fascists strike again.

  18. No options any way you try on iTunes 12.1.1 Tried making a new playlist folder and playlist. Right click, left click, Advanced and Files menu give no burn option. Giving up. Obviously Apple do not want people to use this option any more. Win 8.1
